Big Kid

I was looking through my pictures tonight and thought I would post a few more... a couple of weeks ago I had to go to work to take care of a few things and on our way home Kale & I stopped by to see Jason at work and eat lunch with him. Here is Kale with his daddy at work.
And Kale has really started to like sitting up on your lap to look around so the other night I put him in his highchair while I made supper. He looks like such a big kid

Weekend at Home!!!

Kale has been sleeping at night really well (keeping my fingers crossed to not jinx us) for about a week now. Tuesday night he went to bed aroun 8:30 and he didn't even wake up before Jason & I left for Springfield at 6:30 the next morning. Grandma Mari took the day off on Wednesday to watch Kale so Jason could take me to Springfield to get my gall bladder removed (thanks Mom!). We got home that afternoon and Kale & I were excited (and very thankful) that Jason stayed home the rest of the day Wednesday and had the day off on Thursday to hang out with us and take care of Kale since I was a little sore from surgery.

This weekend we stayed home without visitors or anything going on for the first time since Kale was born. It was nice to have all day Saturday to hang out just the 3 of us. Kale is quite the talker now and is lots of fun to play with. He is not a good sleeper during the day and is actually terrible at taking naps. I'm not sure what we are doing wrong, but if he sleeps at night I can handle the bad naps :).

Last night we drove around to look at some crops and took a few pictures for Jason's workI snapped this picture of Kale & Jason in front of one of the plots

Just hanging out at home

Last night before we went to bed I laughed as I asked Jason if I needed to set an alarm to make sure we got up in time for church (it starts at 10:30). I think we always had to when we were in Minnesota before Kale or we would oversleep...we used to be sooo lazy! We wouldn't trade the less sleep for anything though :). Kale was super talkative this morning and finally fell asleep during church to only be woke up by the bells midway through. Jason said he had several ladies (older) tell him they loved hearing him and they all love on him. He of course just smiles back...I think he is starting to flirt already.

Showing off his neck muscles..yay tummy time! (he actually enjoys it for a little bit at a time now)

Kale hanging out with mom

what a cutie

I took a few pictures while Jason was changing him into his pjs for the night and Jason told me I was going to wear our camera out if I didn't quit. I hadn't taken many for a while so I wanted to get some this weekend since he is changing so fast. We have a busy week coming up with Jason being gone every day and a few nights before we head to Missouri for Labor Day Weekend and the Sheep Fest!

A few weeks ago we took Kale to Sears for his first professional pictures and we got some family pictures taken as well. The day didn't start off very good, but we ended up with some good pictures of our little cutie (at least I think so)! Here are a few- enjoy!

Two months old

It is hard to believe that 2 months ago today we had just met baby Kale and our lives totally changed (for the better of course)!! I have fallen a little behind with posting since we
just got home from being at the State Fair for a week! We had a great time, but I didn't get many pictures. I guess we were just having too much fun!

Kale is changing everyday and is becoming more fun to talk to and play with. He seems to follow us with his eyes and is beginning to smile a lot more...not just when he is passing gas. I can't believe how big he is getting- he is developing a few rolls even! I can't wait to go to his 2 month check up to see how much he weighs now. I know he is gaining like crazy!

Today was also an exciting day because Jason's new work truck came in!! YAY!!! He has been waiting for it since he started the middle of May and is thankful he finally has a little (lot) nicer truck to drive since he had been driving an older regular cab truck.

Not to be left out on this eventful day I met with the general surgeon about my gall bladder and found out that I get to have it removed next week either Tuesday or Wednesday! I have had 4 or 5 "attacks" in the last 3 weeks and a couple more that I got stopped with my pain medicine. The surgeon told us on the notes from my ultrasound it said my gall bladder was full of stones and typically it just says stone, so I think it is a good idea to get it out soon...plus I have to go back to work in 3 weeks so we decided to get it done as soon as possible so I have time to recover while still on leave. I'm just glad I had some news to share today too!

With so much excitement I convinced Jason we needed to celebrate so we headed to Petersburg to eat out at Pizza Hut (in the new truck of course)!! And yes, Jessi, they still have pork sausage-mmm mmm good!! And we got extra so I have lunch for tomorrow already planned!!

Pollard Family Weekend

This past weekend Jason's family came to Illinois for a family weekend and we had lots of fun! Justin, Megan, Allison, Rhett came over Friday night and stayed with us. We, of course, stayed up late watching a hunting video Justin brought over. The next morning we got to hang out for a while before getting ready to head to Springfield. We all headed to Kick's, a really cool place. We ate lunch there at the buffet (they had everything) and then played games. There were go carts, bumper cars, and tons of other games at the arcade. After a fun afternoon there we headed to the mall and around town for some shopping. That night back at our house we had a weinie roast. Yes, there was a heat advisory all weekend, but it cooled off a little and we just didn't sit close to the fire. Megan brought a slip n slide over (for the kids I think) and we cooled off in that after eating! Ed & Lola headed for their hotel in Springfield and the rest of us piled in the den to watch "Taken". It was a really good movie, but it was late by the time we got to bed! The next morning we had a great breakfast casserole Megan cooked and then spent some time just hanging out before lunch. Everyone left later that afternoon and I think we were all worn out...I know Jason, Kale, & I were! Here are some pictures from the fun we had. There are quite a few so get your scrolling finger ready!!

Saturday morning Rhett giving Kale kisses and then laughing

Kale just hanging out

Indoor go carts

I'm not sure if Megan won or was a lap down, but she was the first to exit the track :)

Jason & Chase on the bumper "cars"...there were 4, but 2 of them were not working

Les & Chelsey on a roller coaster simulator...I think this was Chelsey's favorite

Allison showing off some of her tickets she won playing games

Ed playing air hockey against Justin...I'm not sure who won that contest

Allison with one of her prizes...a very snazzy headband that she wore all weekend! It matched Sunday's outfit even better!

The Pollard brothers at the mall

Justin & Rhett riding the carousel

Jason & Allison posing with a horse. They actually rode on a bench on the upper level, but I didnd't get a good picture of that

Kale zonked out while the others were riding the carousel

Getting the slip n slide ready

Allison started the fun

Megan & I told her we would play with her so we changed and took our turns

Jason decided it looked like fun and tried it too

and after some persuasion Justin gave it a try!

Jason showing off

I think us 4 "big" kids had just as much fun as Allison, I don't know about Justin & Megan, but Jason & I were actually sore the next day

Hanging out the next morning in the living room

The oldest 3 grandkids did dishes

A picture of all the grandkids...Chase, Rhett, Allison, Kale, & Chelsey

Allison & Rhett lovin' on Kale

Jason & Kale shortly after everyone left our house Sunday afternoon

We had a great weekend and the best part was I didn't have to cook hardly at all and Les & Megan helped with the dishes after every meal so I didn't have to do much the entire weekend, except the laundry after everyone left! Thanks to our fun on the slip n slide I did 3 loads of towels- a small price to pay for all the fun we had though!!!
