Pollard Family Visits

Sunday morning the boys & I got to make another trip to Springfield for repeat bloodwork- everything came back good so no more tests for Lane (for jaundice anyway).  After a couple of mixups at the hospital and waiting in the emergency room we headed home to a house full of company and food!  Jason's mom, dad, grandma, Justin, Megan, Allison, & Rhett came over to visit and brought us lunch, tons of dessert, and frozen food for the next week. {Thanks Everyone!}  Jason even took off work to come home and hang out with everyone :).  We had a great lunch and good visit- Kale & Lane got lots of lovin' and loved all the company.  Thanks again for everything!!

After some play time outside we had some trick or treaters show up.  Kale was crashing & in need of a nap so we didn't make him get dressed, but I got some pics of the other two kiddos!

First Day at Home

After a good night of sleeping in our own bed  we had our first day at home on Saturday.  It started with the boys & me making a quick trip back to Springfield for some bloodwork for Lane to check for jaundice.  While at the hospital we got a call that Leslie & Chelsey were coming over to visit so after a quick stop by the mall we headed home to hang out with them.  It was nice to have company since Jason was at work and Kale loved the extra attention!  He even got to play outside with Chelsey :).  Jason made it home in time for supper so he got to see Les & Chelsey before they headed back to MO and Kale got some dad time before going to bed.

Coming Home

Friday morning Jason headed home to go to work so my mom & Kale came to eat lunch & hang out with Lane & me until we got released to go home.  Kale loved on Lane and enjoyed running around the room again while we waited to be discharged.  Jason came back to pick us up since you don't get to take a baby home from the hospital every day :).  After getting my drugs and Jason some food Jason took us home and headed back to work :( .  Kale was already asleep, but when he woke up he was not super excited to find me holding Lane.  I think it was a combination of still being tired & maybe a little bit of jealousy.  Once he got some milk he was fine, but was a little concerned later that night when Jason got home and held Lane.  He was pretty quick to climb up on Jason's lap so Lane didn't get alone time with his daddy!  Since that first day he hasn't acted jealous and seems like his little brother- I just hope the love continues :)

brotherly love :)

Hospital visitors

Yesterday Lane was lucky enough to have all 4 grandparents and his big brother visit him in the hospital.  Kale was excited to see Lane, I think because he was something new because his interest didn't last long and before long he was off wandering/running around the rest of the room trying to get into everything else.  I think all the grandparents approved of Baby Lane and we are thankful they were able to visit and enjoyed the company!

Lane Robert

Wow- what a cRaZy {great} DaY we had Wednesday!  It all started with my 39 week check-up yesterday afternoon at 1:30pm.  My blood pressure was elevated {the same way it was at my 39 week check-up with Kale} and my dr wanted to monitor me for a while.  After about an hour of being hooked up to a monitor at the dr office I was sent to the hospital for a couple more hours of monitoring because of my blood pressure and I had started having contractions.  At 7:30pm they told us my blood work came back fine, my blood pressure had gone down, and I hadn't progressed so I was free to go home.  We got discharged, gathered our things up and headed to the parking garage around 8:30pm.  We headed home, but didn't make it out of Springfield before turning around and heading back to the hospital because the contractions had gotten worse {terrible!} After getting readmitted and the longest elevator ride up to the 3rd floor we went right back into the room we had left.  The nurse told us we got into the room at 9:19 and at 9:38 Mr. Lane Robert Pollard was born!  It was fast- so fast I can brag I gave birth without an epidural- though I would never even try to give the impression that was by choice!!  He weighed 7 lbs 13 1/2 ozs and was 19 1/2 inches long.  He has a head full of hair just like Kale, not quite as dark though.  We think he is perfect and are so blessed & excited to add a healthy son to our family!   Here are a few pictures from his first few hours in this world!

Fall Photos & Pumpkin Carving

A while back we got some of the baby things out of the attic, one of them was the bouncy chair.  Kale decided it was pretty cool and we found him {a number of times} hanging out in it.  It almost sunk all the way to the floor when he sat in it and I eventually had to put in up in the closet for now because he was getting a little crazy bouncing in it.
We found this scary mask in our Halloween decorations box and Jason decided to try and scare Kale.  It didn't really work though...Kale ran to him, making his own scary noise and then started kissing him.  We still have yet to actually scare him, yes we are such nice parents...we keep trying :)

Some pictures of Kale with his pumpkins & gourds.
After our little photo shoot, we carved Kale's pumpkin.  He stuck his hand down inside at first, but then decided he would rather just watch so we let Jason do most of the work :)
