Good Friday

It is Good Friday and a great day! No work today so Kale & I have spent the day hanging out. We have been stuck inside most of the day because it is super windy so I took a few pictures when we got back inside from our short walk and thought I would post a couple.

Up next, naptime & packing for a weekend back in Missouri. Hope everyone has a Happy Easter! :)

One of Kale's favorite things is a little red block. He will drop almost anything he is doing to go get the block if we drop it on the floor. Last week I put the block on top of his truck, he grabbed it and then tossed it over the truck. Instead of going around to get it he climbed right over the truck. This has become his new "trick" so the other night when he started doing it again I took some pictures.
Dropping it on the other side of the truck
Reaching for it
Flipping over to get it
Then he decided to flip the truck over
I'm not sure who the winner was

9 month checkup

Kale had his 9 month check-up today. His stats...

weight 22.13 lbs (75th percentile)

height 27.25 inches (50th percentile- I think)

His ear was looking a lot better after four days of the newest antibiotic- yay! But not so good news he has to have some bloodwork done because our zipcode is a "high risk" area for lead. Nothing to really worry about just a precaution, but definitely not a very fun one :(.

Kale is pulling up on everything and walks along the couch. He loves climbing the steps anytime he can. There are only three and he has only fallen down two so far. The bumps and bruises have started, but they haven't slowed Kale down at all! He is also eating more & more table food and still has just two teeth. I took some pictures last night after his bath right before bed. Can you tell someone was getting him wound up?!? This afternoon it was pretty warm when we got home from Springfield so we all spent some time outside :)! Kale did some swinging and played with Daisy some while Jason cleaned out the garage.

Update

It has been a long time since anything got posted on here so a general update from the Pollard family. Since the last update (the end of February) we have had some exciting times. We have made two trips to the Emergency Room for Kale. He was having trouble breathing, but after breathing treatments and some antibiotics for his ear infections he is doing better. Hopefully the newest antibiotic (the third one for the same ear infection) will finally clear that up and he will be all better! You would never know that he doesn't feel good though because he is always playing hard so anytime he quits eating or playing we know something is up.

Jason went back to MO for Justin's Surprise 30th Birthday Party. I hear there was great food and fun! Kale & I stayed home to recover from stomach flu (me) and the first ER trip (Kale). I don't have any pictures though- I forgot to send the camera with Jason. Megan has some great pics on her blog though. Ed & Lola came over to visit for an afternoon (post below).

We went back to Missouri last weekend. We watched Chelsey's 6th grade basketball game, spent the afternoon with the Pollard family (we missed you Megan & Chase) in Shelbina, had Sunday lunch with my mom, dad, & the Belts (minus Jessi) and then went to a baby shower for my aunt! I don't have any pictures from that weekend either though. Not only did I forget my camera at home I forgot the baby shower gift. I remembered about 2 hours into the drive back and Jason said we weren't turning around :).

This last week the weather was nice enough we were able to go outside for a while. We are all excited for the nice weather to get here to stay so we can spend more time outside! This weekend we had rain and it is cooler so hopefully it will warm back up this week and maybe I will have some pictures to post soon!

Gma & Gpa Visit

A few weekends ago Grandma Lola & Grandpa Ed came over to visit Kale (and Jason & I) for the day. We had a good visit and Kale had lots of fun. He played hard all day long before crashing that afternoon and taking a 2 1/2 hour nap.

New toy

Yesterday while Jason was gone to an auction I found a new toy for Kale. I think it has been his favorite so far. We played with it most of the afternoon pulling up on it and Kale even pushed it around the living room while "walking" behind it.
Last night we headed out to Guzzardo's (a restaurant in Lincoln) for my work Christmas party (yes, I know it is almost the end of February). The prime rib was huge and I don't think I even ate half of it. After dinner we went out with part of the group before picking Kale up. When we arrived at the babysitter's house at 11pm he was wide awake! He fell asleep on the way home and finally went to bed after we got home. I think he is exhausted from this week because he is on his third nap of the day. I am a little tired too! We are just thankful he isn't sick because most of the kids at his daycare have been.

George Strait & Reba

Thursday night Jason & I went to St. Louis to see GEORGE STRAIT in concert!!! It was A-MAZING!! LeeAnn Womack started the show and was great. I didn't realize she had so many good songs.

Next came REBA!! She was superb- I love her songs and she is quite the entertainer. Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman) was there and they had a hilarious interaction and then sang the theme song together. She left without singing "Fancy"...what?!? only to come back out in a taxi while the beginning of the "Fancy" music video played. She got out of the cab in a red dress (of course) to finish the show.

After a short break it was finally time for THE KING! He began with "Twang" and put on a great show, singing some great 'oldies' and new songs! We were not disappointed by George, but I was disappointed that I was sooo tired (I guess we are getting old!). We left during what we thought might be the last song. The next morning I found out from a girl I work with he did 3 encores that we missed, one of them being "Folsom Prison Blues"! :( Even though we missed a few songs it was great and we got to see George in concert. The next day at work was a little rough, but we recovered by staying home Friday night.

My pictures were not the greatest...most of them contained random people standing up in front of me or were blurry from movement. I definitely want to invest in a new zoom lens after that night too! :) But here are some pictures from the concert! (not ones I took)

Valentine's Day 2010

Jason & I went out on Saturday afternoon for Valentine's Day and we were able to spend Sunday being lazy at home. Kale played with one of his favorite things being his Tonka truck. He can pull up on it and loved riding on it when I pushed him around the living room.
That night I found Jason & Kale in the dining room making a Valentine for me. I'm not sure how much help Kale was, but he sure was trying. I was told to get out, but I had to get some pictures first!

Bath Time

Kale loves his bath time so it is always fun to let him play in the water and with his bath toys. It is not fun trying to get his diaper & pajamas on him after his bath though. He is a wiggle worm and cannot lay still for anything!

Kale & his bibs

After Kale was born, Jason's mom gave us these bibs from when Jason was a little boy. They have been hanging in the closet since then because they were big. Luckily, a couple of weekends ago I pulled them out and tried them on Kale. As you can see they fit him perfect and if we had waited much longer Kale might have grown right past them. Jason said they made him look even ornerier than usual. I took lots of pictures so here are a few to share...
