Deer Stand

 Jason & Kale are building a deerstand for this fall (hopefully it is done by then!)
Kale is quite the little helper and drags the tools out and tries to work on it even when Jason is not home.
 He loves to "knock" on it with the hammer

 I finally got him to stop for a few pictures

Papa Harold turns.....OLD :)

Dad had a milestone birthday this year so we celebrated at mom & dad's house with supper, a night off from working with sheep, and cake & ice cream.  It was Sunday night so Kyle & Steph weren't there, but the Belts were and the kids loved telling papa he was "old" :)

We surprised him by all showing up in black!

(I think he needs a bigger lap)
 Kids & grandkids all in black (minus Kyle & Steph)

Getting Big!

Lane is crawling everywhere and is starting to pull up so no more just sitting him with toys and not worrying about him. And Kale is learning to share or run somewhere else to keep Lane from getting his toy!

Lane decided to try and take a ride by himself this afternoon!

I think times are about to get a little more exciting :)

Lewis County Fair

I love summer time and the biggest reason {however crazy I may seem} is for showing sheep and hanging out with our fair family!  Last week was our first fair of the season; the weather had cooled off {thank goodness}, we had a great time, and did really well.  After going back & forth Kale did the peewee show.  We hadn't planned on him doing it so we didn't have a special ewe picked out, but he {we} took out a black ewe lamb and he did fine.  We are definitely going to have to work more before State Fair though!
 Kale during peewee...he finally went out when I promised he could help papa feed the sheep
watching the judge
checking out the crowd while walking our lamb

We had some downtime during the show and got to hang out at the pens {and snap some pictures}
Lane is such a good/happy baby and is content to just hang out {usually}
I love this picture of TJ :)

Kale catching a quick nap between the show and ice cream time!
the whole crew {minus Stephy}...poor Jason didn't get the memo :)

4th of July weekend

Our weekend was loaded with fun and fireworks!  We started with a wedding reception Saturday night, church & a rodeo on Sunday, and a swim party/BBQ followed by fireworks on Monday.  We also found time to walk lambs Monday morning.  This has been our best fourth of July yet because after seeing the fireworks we got to go home to our own house!  I am so thankful we are back in MO :)

 throwing poppers...Cooper & Kale loved these...they would throw them down and then step/jump on them!
the morning after...we all survived!
